Addiction grows in isolation.
Recovery grows in community.
We need you here.
Sober living should also be
sober growing.
Our program is simple.
At Sangha House, our residents need only three things to be considered for residency.
A current basis of sobriety and the hope of joining, contributing, and helping others in a sober community.
A Creative Pursuit or passion as a means of continuing future recovery.
A desire to work on one’s mind, body, and soul, spirituality, and mental health.
The Recovery Path is the core of our program at Sangha House.
All our residents (in person and/or online) focus on sharing support while bringing together contemplative practice and a commitment to sobriety.
The Recovery Path and group meetings are not meant as a replacement for 12-step or other recovery work but rather as an addition to focusing on the 11th step of “Prayer and Meditation.”
Newcomers will learn basic meditation techniques to enhance, not replace, their recovery program in a safe and comfortable environment. Advanced meditators will discover new ways to deepen their current practice and recovery program while supporting the group.
The requirements for staying in the program are just as simple.
Stay sober. (Pass random sobriety testing.)
Relentlessly pursue your creative talent. (Create new work, create new business ventures)
Interact with the community. (Attend meetings, classes, and workshops, and contribute.)
Act Virtuously (No violence, theft, etc.)
The Main Goal
The program's output is a new version of you. Mindful, compassionate, social, and warm, driven by purpose, and dedicated to helping others stay sober, just like you did.
Each resident will have an exhibition of their body of work showcased and shared within the house as well as online. These pieces and collections will then be charitably auctioned for the artist’s own benefit.
Upon graduation, our residents are encouraged to continue teaching others at the house, making the Sangha House a full-circle recovery program. Owned, run, attended, and promoted by addicts gratefully in recovery.
How Does It Work?
We select a new cohort for our creative residency every six months. In those six months, our residents are given the tools and instruction needed to pursue their dreams of becoming professional artists, creators, and craftspeople, Classes, and workshops for a healthy mind, body, and soul are taught, as well as standard 12-step meetings and group therapy. responsibilities within our community are assigned to relearn how to interact without the old patterns of addiction, and become comfortable once again with leading, and following.
